Perennial mix. Clumping upright habitat. Hardy native wildflower. Host plant for the Silvery Checkerspot butterfly and seeds enjoyed by American goldfinches.
Size: Varies from 6" (drawf) to 24"
Light: Full to Part Sun. Does best in full sun.
Sowing Instructions: Sow directly into moist garden soil in spring or early fall; or start indoors in early spring. Needs light to germinate. Surface sow and press down gentley for good soil contact. Mist the soil gently with water so the seeds do not wash away. Keep the soil consistently damp until sprouts appear.
Grower's Notes: Self-sows freely. Long bloom time: July through September. Drought and heat tolerant once established. Deadhead spent blooms to encouage further blooms.
