Perennial. Pollinator favorite. Fragrant purple flower spikes attract pollinators all summer and into fall. Edible leaves, flowers and seeds add anise flavor to teas, salads and baked goods.
Size: 2'-4' tall, 1'-3' spread.
Light: Full sun to partial shade.
Sowing Instructions: Direct sow or start indoors.
Grower's Notes: Dear and rabbit resistant. Grows easily in well-draining soil. Tolerates shallow rocky soil, dry soil, drought. Intolerant of water-logged clay soil. Attracts myriad bees, syrphid flies, butterflies, moths and hummingbirds to its necter; finches and cardinals attracted to its seeds. Clump-forming perennial with erect, square stems. Native to North America.
